This is a 3 unit SQA certified Professional Development Award (PDA) at SCQF level 7(HN)

TEXTILES: INTRODUCTION

Surface Decoration: An Introduction; Textile Techniques: An Introduction; Textile Accessory: An Introduction



This course is suitable for those with some previous experience wanting to gain a nationally recognised qualification at Higher National (HN) level. City & Guilds, Higher Art or similar qualifications/experience recommended.

*Textile Club – This is a separate monthly club also at the Art’s Complex and will offer relevant demonstrations and talks suitable for PDA students and those who are interested in developing textile techniques, meeting like-minded people and sharing practice. The club is £10 per evening and will be run by Kim Gunn.

PDA Cost:

£282* per term (payable in advance of the 1st session each term)

*PDA registration and assessment fee is included (SQA certification charge) but does not include materials.

Course information:

This course will lead to an SQA SCQF Level 7 Professional Development Award (PDA) Textiles: Introduction (Subject to approval by SQA).

Delivery is by practical classes over an 8 week term, followed by an assessment of course work. The assessment instrument takes the form of a checklist and written feedback with ample opportunity to remediate any outstanding course work. Each term will cover one unit of study: Term 1 Surface Decoration: An Introduction; Term 2 Textile Techniques: An Introduction; Term 3 Textile Accessory: An Introduction
